Launched in 1893, Wrigley's Spearmint is Wrigley's
second-oldest brand, after Juicy Fruit.
1913
1944
During World War II, company president Philip
Wrigleyled an unusual move to support U.S. troops
and protect the reputation of the company's brands.
1932
Because of wartime rationing, Wrigley could not
make enough top-quality gum for everyone. So rather
than compromise the high quality that people
expected, the company took Wrigley's Spearmint,
1938
Doublemint® and Juicy Fruit off the civilian market
and dedicated the entire output of these brands
to the U.S. Armed Forces

1946

Wrigley's Spearmint was reintroduced to the public

1956
2004

Wrigley's Spearmint was relaunched in the US and UK
with the slogan "even better, longer lasting"

Wrigley launched the "slim pack"
